Metalwork - Projects - Number 1 Keyring

This project is part of the Year Keyring sequence. The idea is that each year group has a Keyring specifically for the year it is in. The Keyring is designed to be more challenging the higher the year group but still not a major task to complete. I find it good for the first task of the year to get students familiar with marking out and tools again.

The Year 1 Keyring concentrates on sharp corners and edges. Marking out is also uncomplicated. I used to make this from Brass or Aluminium but found them to be quite big and heavy so I've switched to Polycarbonate. Polycarbonate is a better choice than Acrylic as inexperienced users tend to crack or break Acrylic quite easily.
